O I know that within Thy silence, in my great mourning and sorrow.
Thy will teach me and Thy understanding will be with me.
O LORD, Thy servant David longs to know the depths of Thy heart.
Search my being, the depths of my soul long to be with Thee.
O God, please speak to me, Thy servants heart is set on Thee.
Shine Thy Holy Light and set Thy Glory on me.
O though my head lie down, mine eyes stare at my feet
And my heart has troubled me, my soul will always long for Thee.
I shall not turn to the ways of wickedness, but I will always seek Thee.
Bring Thy peace and joy upon me in this time of need.
O LORD, instruct me, direct my footsteps and my soul in your paths.
Thy arm strengthens and Thy hand establishes me.
Thy are Just and True, Thy loving kindness is what I seek from Thee.
Shine Thy face on me and speak to me.
Mine eyes are dry and flushed with fountains of tears I have cried,
with grief and sorrows out to Thee.
Hear this poor mans cry and reveal Thyself to me.
For a mother tends to her flock, the mountains hold waters and the rivers give birth.
For the trees dance in the wind and the prairie is green in its beauty.
But as for me, O God, I have been drawn down in Skid Row.
My beauty is within Thee, but only when you are speaking to me.
